Jacqueline Francis

March 24, 1931 — August 25, 2022

Wyoming, OH

Jacqueline (Lohman) Francis (nee Schulz), of Wyoming, OH passed away peacefully on August 25, 2022, at the age of 91.  Jacqueline was born in Ames, Iowa on March 24, 1931, to John A. and Helen (Lamb) Schulz both professors at Iowa State University.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Iowa State and there met her husband of 40 plus years Fredrick Lohman.  They moved to the Cincinnati area taking up residence in the suburb of Wyoming where they raised four children Renee, Steve, Mary, and Mark.  After Fred’s passing in 1996, Jackie remarried Marion David Francis (since deceased) and continued to reside in Wyoming until September of 2021 when she moved to Maple Knoll Village.  A devout Catholic, she was an active member of St. James of the Valley church for all the years she resided in Wyoming.

“Jackie” had a love for music and the arts.  She was a classically trained vocalist and sang professionally as a soloist for area churches, weddings, and events. For years she was a member of the Wyoming music club and the Cincinnati Women’s Club choral group. She enjoyed and supported music and the arts in the Cincinnati area as a decades-long subscriber and benefactor to the CSO , UC’s CCM and The Playhouse in the Park.  With a degree and background in Home Economics, Jackie also had a love for the culinary arts. She worked for Cuisinart demonstrating their products and in the test kitchen of Proctor and Gamble developing recipes for their Duncan Hines brand. Friends and family knew her to be the quintessential host for holidays, parties and gatherings serving up delicious food and drink and rounding out the evening with music and song! Her love for the Lord and for people, led her to many volunteer positions through church and other charitable organizations, but her favorite roles were loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Her exuberance for life, love and infectious laughter will be greatly missed, but we are so thankful for her faithful example and the years we were blessed to have with her as we joyously celebrate her reunification with family in God’s kingdom!

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Fred Lohman and Dave Francis, her brother Ted Schulz, and her daughter Renee Lohman. She is survived by her children Steve Lohman (Suzy) Wyoming, OH, Mary Lohman Moseley (Dale) Coral Springs, FL, and Mark Lohmann Cincinnati, OH., stepchildren William and Patricia Francis, both from Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Andrew, Michelle, Kate, Kelly, Emily, Stephanie and Sarah and her great grandchildren Ansley May, Elizabeth, Nora, Beau, Jude, Ellie, Vinny, Della, Hank, and Rudy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 1 at 10:00 am at St. James of the Valley Church 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, OH 45215. A reception will follow the service at the Wyoming Golf Club 81 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Wyoming, OH 45215.
