James Paul Holcomb, affectionately known as Jim, entered into the presence of his Savior on December 22, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio, at the age of 85. Born on May 3, 1940, in Kanawha County, West Virginia, he was a beloved member of the community whose legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Jim was the son of Charlie and Haley (Douglas) Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Wilma (Harris) Holcomb, who predeceased him on June 26, 2006. His life's journey continued with the unwavering love of his four children: Danny Hooker, Linda Whittington (Bruce), Don Hooker (Michele), and James C. Holcomb (Ollie).  His parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, plus his oldest daughter, Brenda Maxfield (Joe), all went to heaven before him.  James really cherished his role as Papaw to nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy and pride to his life, alongside many nieces and nephews, not to mention a vast number of friends whose lives he touched.

Throughout his lifetime, Jim dedicated 38 years to General Motors, serving in various capacities in locations including Norwood, Shreveport, and Dayton. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in his love for woodworking and leatherworking, hobbies that reflected his creative spirit. A true nature enthusiast, Jim found joy in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.

A faithful member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Batavia, Pastor Roger Grammar, Jim’s commitment to his church and community exemplified his character. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and steadfast support for his friends and family.
