Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 7, 1941.

Beloved husband of Alberta (nee Sams). Loving father of Chris (Sherry) Rockwell and Kimberle (Dewey) Asbrock. Brother of Harold (Brenda) Rockwell and Mary Jo Elliott. Cherished grandfather of Alex Tepe and Andrew (Christine) Tepe; Luke and Olivia Rockwell; great grandfather of Cameron and Ava Trhlin. Uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Lula and Harold; and grandparents Nellie and William.

James worked at Billboard Publishing for many years, which he said was the best job he ever had, loved to go to horse races, bowling and playing golf.  He was loved and admired by all who knew him. James passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at age 82. Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, College Hill, 45224 on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 9 AM until Service at 10 AM..
