Jean K. Ogg, affectionately known to many as Jeannie, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in Liberty Township, Ohio. Born on March 30, 1945, in Cincinnati, Jeannie’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Jeannie grew up in Greenhills, Ohio, and was a proud graduate of Greenhill's High School’s class of 1963. Throughout her childhood and into her adult years, she carried with her a warm, welcoming spirit and a great sense of humor that made everyone around her feel at ease. Known for her optimism and ability to find the silver lining in any situation, Jeannie was truly a joy to be around.
Her professional life largely centered in Human Resources, where she touched many lives with her genuine care and compassion. She worked diligently for Pierre Foods until her retirement, earning profound respect and affection from her employees who loved her dearly. Despite a demanding career, Jeannie’s heart was always rooted in her family.
She would often say that her proudest accomplishments were having her children, Steven and Heather. Though Steven predeceased her, her love for him remained ever-present in her heart. Jeannie was the rock of her family — steadfast, loving, and without hesitation willing to do anything for those she cared about. Her bond with her daughter Heather (nee Ogg) Fair was especially cherished, and Jeannie treasured every moment spent with Heather and her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was simply being together, watching the laughter and joy of her grandchildren, Taylor Fair, Brayden Fair, Elly Jean Ricke, Brinton "Tate" Ricke, and the loved fiancé of Taylor, Brinton Ricke. The love she held for her grandchildren was immeasurable and illuminated much of her life.
Outside of family, Jeannie embraced life’s adventures with enthusiasm. She loved traveling, snow skiing, golfing, and the visits to the casino for some lighthearted gambling. Her fun-loving spirit and zest for life inspired those fortunate enough to share in her interests.
Jean’s journey was also marked by deep connections with her late family members: her father John W. Dixon, her mother Vera Dixon, her sisters Joan Rau and Jan Bowen, her husband John Ogg, and her son Steven Ogg, who preceded her in death. Their memories live on in the heart of this remarkable woman who carried their legacies with grace.
Jeannie’s final farewell will be held at Hodapp Funeral Homes in Liberty Township, Ohio, located at 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd. Visitation will take place on April 3, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. All who knew and loved Jeannie are invited to celebrate her life, honor her memory, and find comfort in the shared stories of a woman who was truly one of a kind.
Jean K. Ogg’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and a family forever blessed by her presence. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly through those whose lives she touched so deeply.
To honor Jean's son, Steven, in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Cincinnati Children's Hospital via their website.
