Jerome Joseph Bucher

June 5, 1937 — May 17, 2025

Cincinnati

Jerome J. Bucher, beloved husband of Jeannine (nee Eiler) for 67 years. Loving father of Kimberly (Michael) Hodapp, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Bucher and Lynne (Arthur) Werner. Caring grandfather of Lindsey (Jorge) Dalance, Jennifer (Brian) Day, Michelle (Sean) Hennessy, Max Bucher, Joseph (Allison) Bamberger and Jack Bamberger. Great grandfather of Nico Dalence, Leo Dalence, Josephine Day, Blake Hennessy and Sloane Hennessy Son of the late Mary and Peter Bucher. Dear brother of the late James Bucher, the late Joan Harnishfeger, Jack Bucher, Jane Carey and Joyce Powers.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He taught his family, by example, how to live a life with humor, generosity, and purpose. He was an endless source of love and support, with a heart that had room for everyone.

Jerry loved sports of all kinds, but the ones that mattered most were the ones played by people he loved. He was always there - whether we needed a coach, a ride, a cheerleader in the stands, or just someone who believed in us. He showed up for everyone - his kids, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews - and he never missed a chance to cheer from the sidelines or lend a hand.

Beyond his family, Jerry gave freely to his community. He served in leadership roles in many organizations, including the Cincinnati Electrical Association, the Miami View Golf Club, and the White Oak Athletic Club, to name just a few.

He lived to play golf, and he played it well - with an impressive collection of major awards to prove it.

Jerry was endlessly generous, not just with what he had, but with his time, energy, and patience. His grandchildren will fondly remember how he helped them play with his model trains, tinker with his ham radio, and explore his world.

And of course, he was a devoted husband to Jeannine. For 67 years, they laughed together every single day. They cracked each other up, supported each other, and gave us the most beautiful example of what a loving marriage can look like.

So, as we move forward, we carry Jerry with us. Whenever we have the opportunity to do something big for our loved ones, we ask, “What would Jerry do?” And we know that he would guide us to choose love, generosity, and showing up.
