Jerry L. Shipp

Jerry L. Shipp Sr., 72, of St. Bernard Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, and reunited with the love of his life Cynthia (Cindy) A. Shipp in Heaven.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jerry dedicated his life to nurturing his Family and excelled as a dedicated husband to Cindy; proud father of Jerry Shipp Jr., Leslie Shipp, and John Shipp Sr.; doting Pawpaw to his six grandchildren, Gabe (18), Mya (17), Bing (12), Crosby (9), Johnny (5), and Eleanor (3); and favorite Father-in-Law to Shondre and Brandy.

His greatest accomplishment was being Cindy’s Husband, but in his work, he was a dedicated Public Servant. As an Army Veteran, he exemplified integrity and honor by teaching his Family to always, “Do it for a pal in the Army!” Jerry worked for the City of St. Bernard as a garbage truck driver, electrician, and mechanic from 2001 before retiring in 2017. Death did not interrupt his Public Service as he donated tissue to patients in dire need thereby living on in others.

Jerry’s hobbies included bowling (how he meant the love of his life), boating, chunky-dunking, fishing, diehard involvement in Amateur Radio and a member of the Queen City Emergency Net and the OH-KY-IN Amateur Radio Society. Jerry’s favorite activities were chilling with a beer or highball, and porch frogging with the love of his life Cindy.

A celebration of life will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home on 20 April 2024 at 1 PM. Friends and Family can continue the celebrate of his life with a wake at the St. Bernard Eagles immediately following the service.
