Joan Catherine Dorr (nee Witt)

Cincinnati - Beloved wife of the late James W. Dorr for 71 years. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on 2/22/1932 to the late Bill and Catherine Witt. Graduate of North College Hill High School and then completed nursing school at Jewish Hospital. She was a dedicated Home Health caregiver and worked as a school nurse at Mt. Healthy High School. Most of her professional career was spent at Providence Hospital in a number of different capacities. After a long career of nursing, she continued to serve others in numerous volunteer roles, which included Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in downtown Cincinnati.

Loving mother of Betsy (Tom) Budke, Tom (Mary) Dorr, late Rick (Margaret) Dorr, Don (Karen) Dorr, Jim (Megan) Dorr, David (Mary) Dorr, Joe (Barb) Dorr, Mary (James) Schirmer, and Andrew (Debbie) Dorr. Loving grandma of Jason, Lauren, Kim, Jeff, Tommy, Emily, Elizabeth, Ben, Ana, Sam, Kristen, Kara, Jacob, Joey, Danny, Patrick, Jenna, Tony, Sarah, Jordan, Kelli, Samantha, Michael, Rachel, Kaitlin, Jimmy, Johnny, Julia, Faith, Will, Grace, and Isabelle. Dear sister of late Jean (Witt) McCabe. Loved by her many great grandchildren Jason Jr., Josh, Jacob, Hailee, Ty, Maci, Lucy, Nora, Franklin, Gabriella, Lillian, Braylen, Tatum, Walter, Maria, Charlotte, James, Isaac, Adelyn, Aria, Emily, Sean, Lainey, Liam, Lyla, Vincent, Pennelope, Charlotte, Johnny Jr.

Died peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, surrounded by family at the age of 93. Mom, Grandma, GiGi cherished her time with her family, friends and her St. Clare/College hill community. Her gift of hospitality was seen by family members and friends every summer for the past 38 years at Lake Santee, which will always be a special place for her and Jim. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave., 45224, on Friday Jan. 16 at 4-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Church, 1443 Cedar Ave., 45224 on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 10:30 AM.
