Joan Shirley Halloran

Joan Shirley Halloran passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, while under Hospice Care, at the age of 94.

Joan (Aunt Shirley) was born on August 30, 1928 and was a lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Joan graduated from Edgewood College in 1950 with a Teaching Degree and especially loved teaching the Middle School (Junior High) student age group.

She was a member of St. Clare’s Parish and was a recipient of the 2000 Sister Mary Virginia Sullivan Award for being a long time Advocate for the Homeless.  She organized a Christmas party at the Drop In Center for 16 Years, in part to honor her brother, Jack.  She turned that event into a Real Christmas Party!!!

Joan is preceded in Death by her parents, Ralph and Jeannette Halloran, Brothers Jack and Ralph and sister, Jean (Toren) Halloran.

She is survived by Ralph’s wife and Sister-in-law, Judy Halloran, 2 Nephews, Tom and Robert Toren and 4 Nieces, Mary, Joan (Schmidt), Anne and Beth Toren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held St. Clare Church, 1443 Cedar Ave., College Hill, 45224 on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM - No Visitation.

Burial immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, 45249.
