Jody L. Fasce

November 12, 1958 — March 21, 2024

Cincinnati, OH

Jody Lynn Fasce (nee Baumgartner), 65, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on March 21, 2024.

The youngest of three children, Jody was born in Wilmington, OH in 1958 to William Jess Baumgartner and Gertrude “Trudy” Regina Baumgartner (nee Shook). Jody fondly recounted traveling past the paper mill to visit her grandparents in West Virginia, singing loudly to musicals with her dad and storytelling.

Jody was raised in Loveland, graduating from Live Oaks and Loveland Hurst High School in 1977. Jody went on to be certified in clerical office work and worked as a receptionist. She also worked various jobs after high school to help support her parents, and was the caretaker for her grandmother, Julia.

Jody met her husband of 37 years, Louis William Fasce, while obtaining her degree in Medical Assisting from Ohio College. They married in 1987, and spent their honeymoon at Shawnee State Park.

Jody and Louis began their family shortly after. They had three children, Sarah (Matthew) Rebman, Louis Fasce, and Julia Fasce.

Above all, Jody always aimed to be a good mom and wife. She would do anything in her power for her family. She played catch when her kids were on sports teams. She was always there to help with projects or to tend to her family when they were sick. Jody would sing her children to sleep and craft elaborate bedtime stories. She led by example, and taught her children the importance of patience, love, empathy, and kindness.

After raising her children, Jody worked for Kroger for 15 years, in the deli and produce departments. She had recently retired and was looking forward to spending her retirement with her husband and family.

Jody doted upon her grandbabies, Henry, and Eloise. She always talked about them and showed their pictures to all her friends and coworkers.

Whenever facing struggles, Jody fought with tenacity, even until the very end. She also always thought of other people, and was a loyal, dedicated, and caring person. She was always willing to give a hug or lend an ear. She also valued her Christian faith, often putting others before herself, whether it was her coworkers, friends, family, or strangers.

Jody loved drawing and writing to express herself. Her favorite downtime activities were watching Asian dramas, going to antique malls and taking trips to state parks with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, William “Bill” Baumgartner and Pamela Marksberry (nee Baumgartner). She is survived by her spouse; her three children; her two grandchildren; her brother and sister in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.

Jody will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
