On Thursday July 23, 2026 Judith Leitzow Hauser, loving wife, mother of three children and grandmother of seven, passed away at the age of 83. Judy was the youngest of three girls, born on March 12, 1943 in St. Paul, MN to Herman and Blanche Leitzow. She grew up in Upper Montclair, NJ, attended The Pennsylvania State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Judy met the love of her life, Ambrose, while home in New Jersey after college, and they married on June 4, 1965 and raised a daughter and two sons. They moved to Cincinnati, OH where Judy taught high school English at Princeton High School. Judy was a loving, fun and caring mother, pausing her career to raise her three children and eventually pursue a Masters Degree in Theology at Xavier University. She became the Director of Religious Education at St. James of the Valley School in Wyoming, OH, and then went on to be the Managing Director of Senior Lifestyles of Cincinnati, where she led the organization with a focus on adult care and community. She built lasting friendships at Evergreen Retirement Community, and returned several years ago as a resident, where she rekindled old friendships and built new ones, too.

Judy and Ambrose were world travelers, and warmly embraced the benefits of retirement, having children to visitand enjoying new places and experiences. Judy was so proud of her children and grandchildren, and all of them regularly met friends of Judy’s that knew all of their achievements and accomplishments - she loved to brag about her family. Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ambrose, her sister Barbara, and her parents Herman and Blanche. Judy is survived by her three children Gretchen (Jay Watkins), Andrew (Bess) and Peter (Kimberly) and her seven grandchildren, Pierson, Josephine, Georgia, Margaret, Maxwell, James and August.

Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH 45216, on Saturday, August 1, from 9am until 10am.
