Karen Tanis

Karen McLaughlin Tanis was born in Rochester, New York on November 5, 1944. She passed away in West Chester, Ohio on January 30, 2026. She loved her family, friends, pets, and helping others. She had a heart for hospitality and was dedicated to bringing joy to others. She enjoyed sharing her cooking talents. She enjoyed fundraising for nonprofit organizations. Her dedication to her daughter and her career in special education brought joy to many.

She was predeceased by her husband Chuck Tanis, mother Elizabeth (Toots) McLaughlin, father Charles McLaughlin, and brother Eugene Rissinger. She is survived by her daughter Kelly Tanis, brother Chuck McLaughlin (Geri), brother-in-law Bob Tanis (Eileen), and Duane Tanis (Marilyn), Nieces Tara Rissinger, Allison Yee (Gary), Sandra Perry, Linda Davis, Nephews Casey McLaughlin, Daniel McLaughlin, Steve Tanis (Peggy), Robert Tanis (Sarah), Paul Tanis, Marty Tanis, many great nieces & nephews, and many wonderful family friends. She was loved and will be greatly missed❤️!
