Larry Joe Brown, born on December 10, 1950, in Stanford, Kentucky, passed away on July 21, 2025, in St. Bernard, Ohio. He was a beloved member of his community and a devoted son, brother and friend.
Larry was a proud Army Infantryman who served in the Vietnam War and was honored with a Purple Heart for his bravery. After his military service, he dedicated his career to General Electric, where he worked diligently in the quality control department. Larry was a graduate of St. Bernard/Elmwood Place High School, Class of 1969, marking the beginning of a lifelong love for learning and exploration.
Larry's interests were diverse and enriching. He enjoyed puzzles and books, often engaging in lively conversations that animated his gatherings with family and friends. He loved walking for miles each day, embracing the beauty of his surroundings, and found joy in coin collecting. He also enjoyed watching football, as well as an enjoyment for learning history. Larry cherished many longtime friendships, particularly those formed at the St. Bernard Eagles, where he often gathered with neighbors and friends.
Larry was profoundly devoted to his family, especially his mother, Rose Brown, who survives him. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Finkbeiner, and brother, Kelly Brown, alongside his nieces, Brielle Maynor (John) and Brenna Crawford, as well as one great niece and three great nephews. His father, Buford Brown, and nephew, John Crawford, predeceased him.
Larry Joe Brown will be remembered not only for his numerous contributions to his community and his steadfast commitment to his family but also for the warmth and kindness he shared with everyone he encountered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and strength, forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
