Laurene James

Laurene James is survived by her husband Richard K. James Jr. and 3 incredible children, Ryan K. James, Emiley James-Beggs, and Carlye Elizabeth James, She was the daughter of Evelynn (Dee) and William Carter of Munhall, PA. Laurene has 3 siblings, 2 brothers William B, Carter, Richard H. Carter, 1 sister Lynne Carter-Ray

Laurene passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15 from complications after open heart surgery.

Laurene was an incredible woman who brought joy and laughter to those she touched.

A continual giving person who put others ahead of herself.  While she has found peace joining her parents and her best 4-legged buddies up above, we will miss her dearly.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday October 21 from 12-2 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Road, West Chester, OH, with the funeral service taking place immediately after at 2pm.

The admiration she held so dear to her heart as she chased after the freedom they have
As she got older, she felt content enough to sit watching from the window watching their wings spread each time
She always wore the color that shone from their backs, the most beautiful red
Even when she became old and ill, she never shed that red sweater
Not even when she had forgotten the reason why she wore it
When her time came and her soul could transcend enough to be as free as them, she didn't forget the love she had for her daughter
It only took but a minute for her daughter to understand the cardinal that looked at through the window
The tears shed while the cardinal tilted her head for the final time
Her Mom finally understood just how much comfort she was given as she was finally able to give it back
The fact she was being looked after all that time ago, now looks at her daughter as the goodbye that was always theirs finally came to pass.
Her daughter watched through her tears as the most beautiful cardinal flew watching how truly free her mother now was.
