Lena R. Wesley, née Dick, a cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted wife, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in West Chester, Ohio. Born on June 5, 1934, in Mount Zion, Kentucky, Lena lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Lena’s journey began in the small town where she was raised, surrounded by the love of her parents, Fred and Flossie Dick. She faithfully carried forward the legacy of a close-knit family, which included her brothers Ellis, Hollis, Larry, and Royal Dick, and her sisters Marie Abbott and Violet Brooks, all of whom preceded her in death. She also grieved the loss of her brother-in-law, Ralph Hall.
After completing high school, Lena married her sweetheart, William Donald Wesley on January 8,1956. Shortly thereafter, Don was called into military service and stationed in Germany. Demonstrating courage and devotion, Lena made the journey from her hometown to be with him abroad, transitioning from a small-town girl to a world traveler. She returned to the United States upon learning that she was expecting their first child, marking the beginning of her new role as a devoted mother.
Lena’s professional career included three years of work at U.S. Playing Cards in Norwood, Ohio. However, she chose to devote herself full time to raising her children, embracing the vital role of stay-at-home mom with grace. She poured her unconditional love and nurturing spirit into her family, qualities that defined her character and lasting legacy.
Known for her kind and gentle nature, Lena had a remarkable ability to make any stranger feel welcomed and valued. Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, she was saved at the age of 13 and spent her life walking steadfastly in her beliefs. A mighty prayer warrior, Lena’s faith was a beacon of strength and comfort to all who knew her. She lived with God at the center of her life and was always ready to point others toward Jesus, not only through her encouraging words but also through the loving actions that illuminated every room she entered. Her joyful presence and peaceful spirit left an indelible mark on her community and loved ones alike.
Lena shared a beautiful and inspiring marriage with her husband, William Donald Wesley, spanning an extraordinary 70 years. Their union stood as a testament to what a loving, Godly marriage embodies—deep commitment, mutual respect, and unwavering support.
She is survived by her beloved husband William Donald Wesley; her three devoted children: Rick Wesley (Tina), Debbie Emerson (Tony), and Vicki Spears (Barry); and her two cherished grandsons, Noah Wesley and Michael Spears. Lena is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Margie Hall and Jean Baugh (Bill), along with numerous nieces and nephews who held her dear.
Lena R. Wesley’s life was a radiant example of love, faith, and selflessness. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of her family and friends.
