Leroy Denny

Leroy Denny, 89, passed away on October 26, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio. He was born on September 5, 1936, in Lincoln County, Kentucky to James Peyton (“Peyton”) Denny and Eliza (Mullins) Denny. He was one of nine children and grew up on a farm.

He married Ila Louise Wilkinson on October 4, 1958. After he served in the Army and spent time in Germany, they settled in West Chester, Ohio, where he lived for nearly 70 years. He was an extremely hard-working and quiet man, who fiercely loved his family. He also loved to garden and enjoyed building and fixing all sorts of things, cars, and lawnmowers. He loved nature and was a great neighbor, always willing to lend a hand. He was not a boastful man but would get a smile on his face about exceptionally pretty tomatoes from his garden. Also, he was proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He was incredibly involved in the lives of his four grandchildren and would do anything for them.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim (John) Ravenhall, and Kara (Mike) Czanik, grandchildren, Katherine (Jereme) Chie, Michael Ravenhall (Savannah Pheanis), Olivia Czanik, and Kennedy Czanik. He also had two great grandchildren, Liam Chie and Mabel Chie, as well as brother, Elbert Ray Denny, sister-in-law Juanita Denny, and brother-in-law Winfred Muse. Additionally, he is survived by in-laws Glenna Emerson, Nell (George) Watson, Carol Wilkinson, Nora Ann Hamm, Jerry (Sue) Wilkinson, and Dale (Barb) Wilkinson. He also leaves behind loved nieces, nephews, and friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Denny, his parents, Peyton and Eliza Denny, and siblings, Stella Mae Denny, James Peyton, Jr, Lucille Muse, James Hobert Denny, Arthur M Denny, Ronnie Wallace Denny and in-laws Bernal and Edith Wilkinson, Debbie (Grady) Goodwin, Morris Emerson and Herlan Hamm.

The visitation and funeral services will be on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Hodapp Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at noon, and the funeral service will begin at one o’clock. The Hodapp Funeral Home is located at 6410 Cin-Dayton Rd., Liberty Township, OH, 45044.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in memory of Leroy be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Disease Research, or other charity of your choice.
