Lois Anne Beckstedt, née Hess, born on May 31, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on May 11, 2026, surrounded by her beloved children. Her departure marks the end of a remarkable life defined by devotion to family, an indomitable spirit, and an enduring zest for life.
Throughout her years, Lois embraced the roles of devoted wife, proud mother, and dedicated homemaker with a grace and passion that left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was the heart of her family, a woman whose fun-loving nature and spirited humor could brighten any room. Feisty and fiercely determined, Lois never shied away from a challenge; if told she couldn’t do something, she took it as a dare to prove otherwise. Her teasing nature and joyful camaraderie brought laughter and warmth to her loved ones, creating cherished memories that will forever endure.
A woman of athleticism and competition, Lois enjoyed many sports, engaging enthusiastically in tennis and bowling. Yet golf was her true passion, a pursuit she cherished deeply. Even when ailments barred her from playing, her love for the game never waned. Riding in the cart, she masterfully offered instruction, her insights sharpening the skills of her daughters. Such was her dedication that her name still proudly holds the record for the most rounds played in a single season at O'Bannon Golf Club—a testament to her formidable spirit and unwavering commitment.
Lois leaves behind a loving family who celebrate her life and the legacy she bestowed upon them: daughters Barb Sourjohn, Linda Womack (Greg), Kim Imbus (Steve), and Lisa Heimann (Trent); sons Dan Beckstedt (Heather) and John Beckstedt (Edy). Her lineage extends through a multitude of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren—Jacob, Laura, Carrie, Adrian, Sean G., Lindsay, Megan, Sean A., Addison, Leighton, Sutton, McKinley, Elijah, Kristy, Michael, Jen, Tim, Kelli, Rick, Mandy, Brian, Katie, Tim, Nolan, Vivienne, Dylan, Theo, Braden, Ryann, Camden, Paisley, Macy, Remy, Sadie, Tucker, Owen, Sawyer, Olivia, Maxwell, Eleanor, Heather, Jason, Kelly, Sarah, Steven, Brian, Audrey, Zachary, Danielle, Benjamin, Maddie, Ethan, Caleb, Sophia, Hayes, Carson, Stetson, Wyatt, Carly, William, Kelsey, Evan, Sylvia, Kaiser, Noah, Samantha, Trent, Athena, Emery, Nicholas, and Winry—each a living testament to her enduring spirit and love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Beckstedt, whose memory remains intertwined with the life they built together.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation held on May 14, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at The Community of the Good Shepherd, located at 8815 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., concluding at 11:00 a.m., celebrating the profound faith and grace that guided Lois throughout her life. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside services (Gate of Heaven Cemetery) at The 315, 315 W. Pike St., Morrow, Ohio 45152.
