Lois Gail Elliott, age 83, passed away December 1st, 2022, following a prolonged illness. Gail was born on December 15, 1938, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Jane and Ned Crayton. She is survived by her son Brian (Michele) Elliott of Grand Rapids, her daughter Elizabeth (Patrick) Cavanaugh of Cincinnati, five grandchildren - Morgan and Margaret (Maggie) Cavanaugh, Katelyn, Lindsay, and Jack Elliott, sister, Alice Alexander of Richmond, Virginia and sister in-law, Linda Dimberg of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Gail graduated in 1960 from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan with a degree in Education. While there she met her husband, Larry, and married in August of 1960 and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where they raised their family. Gail worked in advertising, public relations, event management and fundraising within her own company, Elliott Enterprises, and in various positions at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Gail was extremely committed to her community and gave back through her development and event coordination efforts for the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids Public Museum, Gerald Ford Museum, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, Celebration on the Grand and Channel 35 Public Television. Through all her involvement she became known as the “official parade lady” of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Upon retirement, Gail and Larry enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter, visiting their family, spending time with their grandchildren, and cooking. Eventually, they moved to Florida and made Naples their home.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 30th, at Hodapp Funeral Home 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. Liberty, Twp., OH 45044 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Patrick and Beth Cavanaugh’s home at 5754 Chancery Place, Liberty Township, Ohio 45011.
