Lois Jean Smith

September 1, 1946 — October 13, 2025

Monroe, Ohio

Lois Jean Smith, born on September 1, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She left behind a rich legacy of love, warmth, and compassion.

Jean shared nearly 60 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Thomas Smith. Their love story began in 1962, courtesy of a blind date set up by friends. Their commitment to one another led to a beautiful marriage on February 12, 1966. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Together, they welcomed a beautiful family into the world. Jean is survived by her loving husband, Tom, their children Mark (Dian) Smith, Lori (Brian) Green, Jenna (Kyle) Jones, and Ronnie (Tonya) Smith, as well as her beloved grandchildren, who range in age from 32 to a tender age of 1-1/2 years. Each grandchild, a reflection of her warmth and light, held a special place in Jean’s heart.

She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Sharon Doyle. The two shared a special bond, treasuring the many days and memories they created together. Jean now joins her late parents, Owen and Marjorie Snell, and her siblings, Robert Snell and Janet Henschen, in eternal peace.

Jean held a special place in her heart for her church family at Bethany Methodist Church in Liberty Township. Her strong faith deeply influenced her life, and she often said that the church was not just a building but rather the people within it. She found joy in being part of a community that shared her values and beliefs, and her involvement in church activities brought her immense happiness.

Jean was the proud owner of Jean’s Special Touch, an embroidery and screen-printing business she built with creativity, dedication, and care. She always went above and beyond for her customers, providing that special touch. Through her craft, she touched countless lives – leaving behind not just beautiful work but lasting memories and friendships.

As we reflect on the life of Jean, we celebrate a gentle soul whose faith, love, and compassion touched everyone she met. Her memory serves as a reminder of the profound impact one person’s love and generosity can have on so many. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who will carry her kindness and spirit forward in all they do.

Visitation will be held at Bethany Church, 6388 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Twp., OH 45044, on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12 Noon.
