Lora Mae Papadis

May 6, 1960 — December 1, 2025

Lora Mae Papadis, born on May 6, 1960, transcended this world on December 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven from threads of love, laughter, and cherished moments. A light that illuminated every room she entered, Lora never met a stranger, embodying the true essence of warmth and kindness. Her life was a vibrant tapestry of close family ties, joyful memories, and affectionate relationships that she nurtured with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Lora's devotion to her family radiated through her actions. She was a proud mother to Brian (Michelle) Doran, Christa (Austin) Hinkle, and Jackie (Mike) Tannreuther, whose accomplishments she celebrated with joy and love, often boasting about them to anyone within earshot. Lora loved her son in laws with her whole being. Mike and Austin looked to her as their own mother as she treated them like her own sons. Her boundless love extended to her grandchildren—Kyrah, Paige, Brooke, Jaxson, Brayden Doran, Zachary, Zoe, Zaylee Hinkle, Riley Reynolds and Kendall Tannreuther—who were not only her joys but also her comrades in heartfelt adventures. The bond she shared with them was truly special, enriching her life immeasurably. In Lora's eyes, they were her rock and sidekicks, and her heart brimmed with pride as she watched them grow. Mary Kiser was her life long best friend of 60 years. Lora had many close friends via social media who will miss her dearly. Lora enjoyed visiting her second family at PRC.

As devoted as she was to her children and grandchildren, Lora bore an unwavering love for her special needs brother, David “Jake” Crawford. Caring for him brought her immense joy, and together they shared countless meals and moments filled with laughter, underscoring the beauty of their relationship. Lora’s sister, Anna Fillis, was also a beloved part of her life. Lora looked forward to their daily phone calls to sit and chat for hours about everything and nothing. She loved her nieces and nephew—Dino (Shelley) Fillis, Joann Fillis, and Niki (Matthew) Trent—who all felt her unconditional love and support.

Lora's laughter was unique and infectious, echoing the happiness she exuded. Known affectionately as the "crazy lady," she thrived in her loud and proud demeanor, fiercely loyal to her friends and family. Her vivacious spirit came alive through storytelling, especially tales from her childhood, which she shared with warmth and nostalgia. Her love for candid photographs captured the joyous times in her life, as moments spent with her beloved dog, Buddy, leisurely rounds of bingo, visits to the casino, and meals shared with her family filled her heart.

Unfortunately, Lora faced a daunting challenge when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Initial fears soon turned into determination as she learned that it had been detected early, granting her a hopeful timeline for recovery. Embracing this second chance, Lora fought valiantly, determined to savor every moment. In her final days, she remained surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren, where her spirit shone brightly even amidst the unexpected sorrows that crept in.

Lora Mae Papadis is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Jacqueline Crawford; her husband, Mike Papadis; her granddaughter, Breanna Doran; her brother, David “Jake” Crawford; and her in-laws, Mano and Pepi Papadis. She is also reunited with her close friend Dave Pontius. Though her departure came too soon, the love she fostered and the memories she forged will remain eternal in the hearts of those she touched. Her remarkable journey, defined by selflessness and exuberance, serves as a reminder to honor our loved ones wholeheartedly and to cherish every fleeting moment. Lora’s legacy is one of connection, love, and laughter—qualities that will continue to resonate and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
