Marc Santambrosio, a compassionate and dedicated physician, beloved family man, and friend to many, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 58. Born on November 18, 1966, in Argentina, Marc’s journey through life was marked by his kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Educated at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Marc graduated in 1996 and went on to complete his Emergency Medicine training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he honed his skills and passion for helping others. Over his remarkable career, Marc served as the Director of Emergency Services at Advent Health (Florida Hospital) for over 15 years, earning recognition for his leadership including a President's Award in 2008. His exemplary service to the White House Medical Unit was acknowledged in 2016. Additionally, he participated in a Florida Global Mission trip to Argentina in 2015 alongside his close friend, Dr. Steve Nazario, showcasing his dedication not only as a physician but also as a global citizen.
Marc cherished family traditions, particularly during the holidays, where his love for Christmas was evident in his pursuit of the largest Christmas tree possible. He took joy in celebrating Halloween with family and hosting Sunday dinners that became a staple in his home. A talented chef, he was known for preparing the best marinara, pasta, and lasagna, alongside his passion for barbecuing and enjoying the outdoors. His favorite places included Findlay Market in Cincinnati, New Smyrna Beach, and trips to New York City, where he loved to stay near Central Park.
He held a special fondness for animals, earning him the affectionate nickname “Saint Francis of Assisi.” His home was always lively with the presence of dogs—including his beloved Pomeranian, Sparky, and Golden Retriever, Sky—as well as a recent addition of five chickens, which he and his wife, Kelly Kollstedt, welcomed into their lives.
Marc's personality shone brightly; he was known for his kind heart, caring nature, and lively sense of humor, making him a joy to be around. He was truly a friend to all, always ready to put others before himself, and went above and beyond to support his family and friends. Marc's cherished role as a father to his two sons, Patrick and Nick, was one of his proudest accomplishments, highlighted by memorable experiences such as taking them to New Zealand to see their favorite rugby team, the All Blacks.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Kollstedt; his sons, Patrick Santambrosio and Nick Santambrosio; his brother, Jude Santambrosio; his mother-in-law, Paula Kollstedt; his brother-in-law, Lance Kollstedt; sister-in-law, Stacey Sullivan; brother-in-law, Jon Kollstedt; as well as many special cousins, including Ruben, Sergio, Javier, Veronica, Daniel, Daniela, Chiquita and aunts Amanda and Cachi, in Argentina. He is also remembered by the mother of his two sons, Adriana Lombardo.
Marc joins in eternal rest his beloved mother, Teresa Gazzola, and his father-in-law, Steve Kollstedt.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be missed dearly. A memorial gathering is scheduled for July 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a memorial service from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Hodapp Funeral Homes - West Chester, located at 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069.
