Margaret J. McCoy, born on September 9, 1938, in Casey County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in Vevay, Indiana. She was a woman of remarkable strength and known for her love for the Lord and unwavering generosity to anyone in need. Those who knew Margaret admired her strong personality and exceptional work ethic, traits that guided her through a life well-lived.
Margaret found joy in sewing and crocheting. She cherished collecting various items and relished the fun and camaraderie of playing card games. Above all, she held a special place in her heart as the #1 fan of Conway Twitty, a testament to her love for music and spirited character.
Throughout her life, Margaret took immense pride in her volunteer work, generously giving her time and energy to local schools and her church community. Her dedication to service was a reflection of her deep-rooted values and her desire to make a meaningful impact on those around her.
Margaret's family was central to her life. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Arnold Lee Haynes and wife Terry. She was a cherished mother to Deborah (Dave Smith) Kathman, Dale (Paula) Jackson, Connie (Rick) Wallace, and Pam Brooks. Margaret’s legacy continues through her ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, as well as countless others who affectionately called her "mom."
She joins in eternal rest her parents, Ranie and Arlie Haynes; her brothers James, Ronnie, and Robert Haynes; sisters Mary Wells, Helen Blust, and Rachel Collins; and her granddaughters Angela Kathman Cordes and Schahanna Robinson.
Margaret J. McCoy's life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and an enduring spirit. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have shared in her warmth and care.
