Margaret Louise “Granny” Tingle (née Sparks), age 92, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on October 31, 1933, in Big Bone, Kentucky, she lived a long and full life marked by love, dedication, and unwavering strength.
Margaret was the heart of her family and a beloved figure in her community. Known affectionately as “Granny,” she spent much of her life caring for others. Her career as a babysitter extended far beyond a job—it was a calling. She lovingly watched over nearly all the neighborhood children through the years, becoming a cherished presence in countless lives. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals.
She is remembered by her children: Linda , Johnny (Kim), Joe, and Lora(Jeff); her grandchildren: Jeremy (Lesli), Lisa(Willie), Ashley(Jesse), Mickensie, Zach, and William(Sara); and her great-grandchildren: Bradley(Sara), Jordan, Kyle, Brooklyn, Amia, JaySean, Michael, Corbin, Ellie, Maddie, Abram, and River. Three sister-in-laws Jeannie (Harold), Marie (Melvin), Louise (Vernon) Numerous niece and nephews; Along with all of her adopted grand children throughout the years. Each one held a special place in her heart and brought her immense joy.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond; her brothers Jack, Martin, and Melvin; her sisters Nell, Jean, and Mary Lou; her son-in-law Mike; Brother -in-Law Harold and her grandson Dennis. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
A woman of deep compassion and honesty, Margaret was known for being loving and caring while also straightforward and understanding. Her sense of humor brightened every room she entered. Whether offering advice or sharing a laugh during family gatherings ,visits with friends or chats on the phone, she left an impression that will not be forgotten.
Margaret had a passion for sports that matched her vibrant personality. She loved cheering on Kentucky basketball with fierce loyalty and never missed a chance to root for the Cincinnati Reds or Bengals. Game days were often spent yelling at the tv telling them how to play.
Her legacy is one of kindness woven with resilience—a matriarch who nurtured generations with patience and pride. The lessons she taught through example—of hard work, honesty, love for family—will continue to guide those who knew her. May Margaret’s memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
