Martha Ward Pelletier, 83, of Loveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, in hospice care at her home at Traditions of Deerfield.
Martha was born in Akron, Ohio on November 20, 1942, to James Alfred Ward and Hazel Irene Scott Ward. She grew up in Akron, Ohio, and later lived in Columbus, West Chester, Liberty Township, and Loveland, Ohio. She also resided in Georgia and Ft Myers’s, Florida. She married Ronald Pelletier, who preceded her in death on October 22, 2004.
Martha worked as a secretary at North American Aviation and later for Lakota Local Schools, and she was a devoted homemaker. She was a talented and creative artist who enjoyed macrame, painting, crocheting, cross stitch, and basket making. She also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Sharonville Community Chorus for over 20 years, wearing her sparkly vest and sharing the joy of music at concerts during the summer and holidays. Martha enjoyed traveling with family and friends across the U.S. and abroad. She was also an avid birder, noting backyard birds as well as those seen at home in Florida, and frequently made spring trips to Northern Ohio for the migration of warblers and other species.
Martha is survived by her children, Karen (John) Sullivan and Michael Pelletier (Eric) and her granddaughter Claire.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sarah Ward, Mary Patrino, and William Ward.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069. Visitation will begin at 2 pm in the afternoon and the Celebration will be held at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a Memorial contribution to the local Audubon Society of Ohio to honor Martha’s love of birds.
