Mary A. Costello, (nee Meiners),

beloved wife of the late Edward J. Costello, Jr. loving mother of Michael (late Charlene), Robert (Thaweewan) and James (Amy) Costello, cherished grandmother of Jason, Hannah, Adam (Nicki) and Emily.

Dear sister of the late Donald (Judy) Meiners, Margaret (late John) Steiner and the late Raymond Meiners.

Mary passed away on Thursday October 22, 2026 at age 91.

Mary spent her early life in Park Hills, Kentucky, where she attended Notre Dame Academy. An accomplished seamstress, she altered many clothes over the years for friends and family. The grandchildren’s visits with Grandma always included a serious card game or two.

Over the last few decades, Mary volunteered extensively, first at the Cincinnati Zoo and later, at Good Samaritan and Bethesda North hospitals. Much of her volunteer time supported both the young and the old, as she crocheted blankets, shawls and newborn hats. Some years ago she was recognized for 10,000 service hours in the TriHealth volunteer program.
