Mary Elaine Murray, née Scheuerle, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in her hometown of Cincinnati. Born on June 27, 1935, Elaine’s life was a testament to devotion, community spirit, and family love. Her joy of life and laughter will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
Elaine was born at Good Samaritan hospital and raised in St. Bernard Ohio. She dedicated many years of her life volunteering with Tom her husband and daughter Mary Alice at St. Clement Parish and School, Roger Bacon High School, and Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly. Elaine and Tom received several awards recognizing their tireless efforts and compassionate service to the community.
Family and faith were the cornerstone of Elaine’s life. She was the cherished mother of sons Kevin (Linda), John, and Bruce (Kim) Murray. Her devotion extended across generations, embracing her grandchildren Michelle McCauley (Kyle), Joshua Murray (Evana), Dylan Murray, Jessica Murray, and her beloved great-grandchildren Grayson McCauley, Ella McCauley, Nolan McCauley, and Melina Murray. Her family was a source of immense pride and joy throughout her life.
Elaine’s memory will also be honored by her brother, Richard Scheuerle (Janet), along with many nieces and nephews who affectionately remember her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas Murray; daughter Mary Alice; parents, Theodore and Clara Scheuerle; and sisters June Sentker (Carl) and Virginia James (William).
Elaine Murray’s life embodied strength, generosity, and unwavering love. She touched countless lives through her volunteer work and through the strong, nurturing family she helped build. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 9:30 until 11:00 at St. Clement Catholic Church, 4536 Vine Street, St.Bernard, OH 45217. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation beginning at 11.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati and Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly Cincinnati Ohio.
