Matthew E. Johnson

Matthew Eric Johnson devoted husband and father, age 52, passed away July 16, 2022.  Matt had many hobbies but loved spending time with family and dear friends the most. Matt loved to travel - exploring new cities, trying new food, visiting battlefields and military museums, and taking pictures with cannons and tanks. He also loved to sit at the beach reading a book. Matt was an avid reader and collected books on military history. He was known to read books about submarines. Matt also loved sports, especially FC Cincinnati, Watford, F1 racing and the Chicago Cubs (thanks to Mo). Matt proudly served in the U.S. Navy. His kindness, love, and devotion to family and friends will always be remembered.

Matt leaves behind his wife and soulmate of 23 years Maureen (McGlone), son Daniel and daughter Maggie. His parents Greg and Sylvia Johnson, Brother Andrew, Sister-in-laws Chika Johnson (Kubota) and Sheila McGlone-Eisman, Brother-in-law Kirby Eisman, Niece Lana, Nephews Colin and Trevor. And of course, many more family and friends.

Services will be held on July 21 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Road, in West Chester OH. Visitation from 11-1 with a memorial service to follow at 1:00.
