Melvin Reed

Melvin ”Mel” Reed, 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio went to meet his Heavenly Father and be reunited with his loving wife Joy (Hobbs) Reed on Wednesday August 11, 2021. He was born August 5, 1932, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the son of the late Theodore & Esther (Keating) Reed. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany. He retired from General Electric in 1990 and was a member of the Carthage Church of the Nazarene, serving on the church board for many years.
Mel is survived and greatly loved by a multitude of family members and friends, too many to mention. Visitation will be 9-11 AM Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Carthage Church of the Nazarene, 33 W. 65th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Springdale, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carthage Church of the Nazarene.
