Melvin Steigleder

Steigleder, Melvin, born December 27, 1931, passed away on April 6, 2022 at the age of 90.  Melvin is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Anna Steigleder. Loving father of Sandra Daugherty and late Steven Steigleder.  Cherished grandfather of Brandon (Greg Schmid) and Bridget (Matt Davey) Daugherty.



Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 5-8 PM at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave. College Hill, 45244. Funeral service on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 11 AM, burial immediately following at Spring Grove Cemetery. 



A celebration of life will be at Taft's Brewpourium next to the cemetery from 1-3 PM on Friday. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203 or Compassus Hospice, 4434 Carver Woods Dr #115, Blue Ash, OH 45242.



Mel was a proud army veteran having served in the Korean war.  He was a loving man, taking care of Steve after his debilitating car accident and Anne for 10 years while she had Alzheimer's.  Mel was an auto mechanic and had many hobbies.  He was most passionate about his cars, taking great pride in his 1966 Corvair and 1971 El Camino - earning him well over 100 trophies!  He was also an avid bowler and participated in volleyball and softball leagues.  Mel always had a love for dogs, especially his last dog, Rudy, who never left his side; Rudy would follow him around every day when he was out tinkering in the yard. We will miss such a fun, entertaining, passionate man.
