Michael Allen Detroy

Beloved husband of Wendy Lynn (Nee Jandt) for 56 years. Loving father of Jonathan Michael Detroy, Amy Elizabeth Detroy, and “like a father” to Jennie Lee Baumgartner. Dear grandfather “Daddy” of Allison Joy Baumgartner and Davia Hope Baumgartner. Precious great grandfather “Daddy” of Nyla Joy Baumgartner.

Mike graduated from Glencoe High School, Glencoe, Minnesota as co-valedictorian and went on to graduate from the University of Louisville, where he met Wendy. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and was employed by Cincinnati Bell until his retirement.

Mike had a sharp sense of humor, and enjoyed photography, theater pipe organs, and square dancing with Wendy. He was actually rebuilding a theater pipe organ in his home for many years.

Mike was, above all else devoted to his family and steadfast in his faith. He lived to serve. He gave freely of his time to care for those around him and to follow God’s will. His final act of service was to donate his brain to Parkinson’s research.

Passed away Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at the age of 79. Visitation will be held at Christ Covenant Church 2191 Struble Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231 on Saturday, January 31st from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 noon. Luncheon to follow at 1 p.m.
