Minnie Oney

Minnie Oney, born on September 2, 1938, in the serene surroundings of Magoffin County, left this world on May 6, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio, due to a heart attack. She departed just hours after being stricken with a sudden ailment, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew her.

Minnie was a loving, kind, and caring individual whose spirit touched many lives. Throughout her life, she exemplified the virtues of compassion and warmth, fostering a nurturing environment for her family and friends. She found her greatest joy in spending quality time with her loved ones, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. The laughter, love, and togetherness shared during this festive season created lasting memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who gathered around her.

Minnie is remembered fondly by her living family, including her devoted daughter, Donna Stroup, and her cherished granddaughter, Jordyn Oney, who will carry forward the legacy of love and kindness that defined her life. Also mourning her passing is her son-in-law, Robert Stroup and longtime friends Teresa Dougherty and Val Jeffers.

Minnie has rejoined her beloved husband, Dallas Oney, and their son, Dallas Oney Jr., in eternal rest. She is also preceded in death by her loving parents, Ranney and Dianna Montgomery, and her siblings—sisters Marie Kilgore and Sue Schuler, as well as brothers Arnold and Corbet Montgomery. These connections forged in life remain unbroken in memory, and it is a comfort to know that they are now reunited.

A visitation to honor Minne's life will be held on May 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Hodapp Funeral Homes - West Chester, located at 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH, 45069. The family invites all who knew Minnie to gather and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
