Nicholas John Walkenhorst, affectionately known as Nick, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2025, at his home, leaving behind cherished memories which will be fondly remembered by those that knew him well. Born on December 8, 1979, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a proud graduate of Moeller High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati, utilizing this education throughout his career at various companies.
A man of many talents, Nick possessed a strong and determined spirit. His intelligence was complimented by his wonderful sense of humor, making him a beloved figure among friends and family. He reveled in his passions, particularly enjoying football and golf. Nick was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and UC Football. His competitive spirit was evident when, at just 12 years old, he proudly won the local Punt, Pass & Kick competition, which led him to compete in the finals in Cleveland.
Nick embraced the joys of life with enthusiasm, especially with his son Colin, who shares his dad’s love of sports and plays a great game of baseball. Nick found great pleasure in driving, often taking the scenic vistas that life had to offer. He was an adept cook, famously known for his wonderful chili recipe, which brought warmth and comfort to friends and family alike.
Nick is survived by his beloved son, Colin (mother, Valerie), and his mother, Mary Ann (Brinker) Walkenhorst. He is also survived by his sister, Julie (Walkenhorst) Beckner, her husband Mike Beckner, and their children, William and Madelyn Beckner, who will carry forward the memories and love he nurtured throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Walkenhorst, as well as both sets of grandparents, and sadly too many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nick's untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on through the cherished memories and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
