Clements, Odean (Luttrell) age 93 passed away on Tuesday, September 15th surrounded by her family at home. Born on July 13, 1933 to her late parents Earnest and Bessie (Childress) Luttrell. She is preceded in death by her late husband of 63 years Marvin Clements of Clementsville. They were married on January 2, 1952. She is also preceded in death by six of her seven siblings. Lorene, Don, Arlis, Lois, Marcille, and Versie. She is survived in death by those that loved her dearly... her daughter Beverly, her son Gregory and four grandchildren Tyler, Travis, Jeriah and Adalyn. She is also survived by a brother Sherill Luttrell and a host of nieces and nephews, She was lovingly called “Grandma Dean” by children of friends and their children. Odean was a woman of faith from an early age. Along with her siblings and friends they would walk to various churches like Patterson Chapel, Oak Grove, Thomas Ridge, Dunnville Christian and a block church on 910. While visiting her sister Lorene she would attend Shady Grove and the Block Church. Around 1960 she became a member of the Swifton Chapel Church of God (now Norwood 1st Church of God). Odean and Marvin served the Lord by becoming the custodians and ground keepers of the church and parsonage. Odean also served as treasurer for the church for over 30 years. Odean worked for a short time at P&G then at Cambridge Tile for approximately 10 years but decided to be a stay-at-home wife and mom. Odean loved planting flowers, canning Marvin’s yummy veggies from his backyard garden, playing Rook, Pinnacle or Scrabble with anyone willing to play. She loved the little farm they bought on Thomas Ridge Road so they were closer to family. But she mostly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, neighbors and church. Odean’s family will receive family and friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, September 18th at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine Street, Carthage, OH and from 5-7 PM on Saturday, September 19th at Mckinney Brown Funeral Home 752 KY-70, Liberty, KY. Funeral Service will be Sunday. September 20th at 2 PM at McKinney Brown Funeral Home. After the service a procession will travel from the funeral home to south on 910 to 1640 (Thomas Ridge Road) past Patterson Chapel, Oak Grove, her farm then on to Thomas Ridge Cemetery for burial. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Kim Roberts, RN and Prestina Spurling, STNA of Suncrest-Hospice who lovingly attended to Odean during her final months of life. Their love and support is immeasurably appreciated. Odean was loved so much by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by many, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Thomas Ridge Cemetery Fund, c/o Greg Bernard at 2943 Thomas Ridge Road, Dunnville, KY 42528; Norwood 1st Church of God, 2034 Dale Road, Norwood, OH 45212 or Suncrest-Hospice, 9277 Centre Pointe Drive, Suite #160, West Chester Township, OH 45069.
