Obituary

Okey Lee Underwood Jr was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Okey and Roberta Underwood. He was the oldest of eight children. When he turned eighteen he joined the Ohio National Guard and served for six years. During this time he was also employed at Sonoco (paper products) where he stayed for forty-five years until retirement. Although he received many promotions and accolades as Lead Maintenance Supervisor, he was truly a History teacher at heart.

Okey thoroughly enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, a good game of cards, and watching True Crime and Westerns on his TV. He loved being with his wife, kids, and grandkids.

Okey had his own soundtrack for life. Music was more than something playing in the background. It was something you felt, something you remembered, and something that could take you somewhere else. It helped you communicate when words failed.

I hope he knows that he will always be loved, always be remembered, and will always be missed.
