Pearl Karrick, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away quietly on November 1, 2025, at the age of 98 in Mason, Ohio. Born on January 17, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Pearl's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her myriad interests that brought joy to those around her.
As a loving mother, Pearl placed her sons, Ed, Mike, and Gil Jr. (Diane) Karrick, at the forefront of her life. Her warm smile and nurturing spirit made her an integral part of their lives, providing them with support and guidance throughout their journeys. She was not only a mother but also a grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of love.
Pearl was an original member of Crestview Presbyterian Church, where she found a sense of community that enriched her life. A resident of Pisgah (West Chester) since 1958, she made lasting connections and friendships that spanned decades. Her interests were as diverse as her warmth; she was enthusiastic about cooking, participating in numerous golf leagues both in Ohio and Florida, and was known for her keen intellect and thoughtful correspondence. A constant thinker, she enjoyed writing letters and sending note cards, sharing her thoughts and love with friends and family alike. Pearl had a big family growing up, she had 9 brothers and sisters.
Education was an important aspect of Pearl's life, and she pursued her studies at the University of Cincinnati after her children were raised, exemplifying her belief in lifelong learning. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her love for travel, having spent 35 wonderful years wintering in Florida until she turned 93, creating cherished memories with her family.
Pearl is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Karrick Sr., with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, leaving a profound impact on their family.
Visitation will be held on November 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hodapp Funeral Homes - West Chester, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Pearl will be laid to rest at West Chester Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
