Richard Joseph Neufarth

Richard Joseph Neufarth, beloved husband of 35 years to Carol Neufarth. Loving father of Jenny (Tim) Hansford and Richard (Carmen) Neufarth. Stepfather of Andrew (Missy) Chafin. Caring grandfather of Abby, Thomas, Lindsay, Samuel and Matthew. Step grandfather of Cody, Nate, Calvin, Andrea, Sebastian and Nicolas. Step great-grandfather of Reese Walker. Preceded in death by his parents Florence and Walter Neufarth and his siblings Donald Neufarth and Carol Leonard

Dick Neufarth was born in Hamilton County, Ohio and lived in Mason, Sharonville, and West Chester. He attended Princeton High School and the University of Cincinnati where he earned a Bachelor of Science and played football. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1967-1972 where he was an Inventory Management Specialist and was stationed in Amarillo, Texas and Wilmington, Ohio.

Dick worked at Xtek for 26 years, he also worked in real estate and industrial gear sales. Tools and machining were his passion, along with fixing anything and everything himself. He was an avid outdoorsman: hunting deer and turkey, fishing and chasing the elusive morel mushroom. Camping down by the Ohio River with family was a favorite pastime.

Dick and Carol enjoyed Corvette Club, meeting up with friends, and in later years, winters at the Hideaway in Ruskin, Florida and spending time with his grandchildren.

As a lung transplant recipient, Dick beat the odds time and again and was forever grateful to Dr. Budev and the staff at Cleveland Clinic for their conscientious care and support, and the additional years of life he was granted.

May he be remembered as a strong, capable and devoted family man who considered himself fortunate in his wife Carol, his children, grandchildren and friends far and near.

Dick passed away April 29, 2023, at the age of 78. Visitation will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, at Hodapp Funeral Home 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. (Rt 42) West Chester, OH 45069 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m.
