Robert L. Dunn, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on May 22, 1940, Bob lived a life marked by dedication, heartfelt family devotion, and a rich legacy of personal and professional accomplishments.
A proud graduate of Breathitt County High School, Bob held dear one of his fondest memories—the final state game for Breathitt County during the 1959-1960 season, a testament to his early spirit and determination. His commitment to service extended beyond the classroom and athletic fields, as he honorably served his country in the Airforce for four years, exemplifying his sense of duty and patriotism.
Bob devoted 37 years of his life to General Motors in the parts division, where his hardworking nature and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Beyond the workplace, he cherished his home, taking great pride in its appearance and finding peace in simple pleasures like sitting on the front porch watching sunsets and storms. A passionate follower of UK Basketball, Bob’s enthusiasm for the sport reflected his love of community and tradition.
Family was at the center of Bob's world. He loved his family dearly and was a steadfast presence in their lives. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Sarah; their son Robert A. Dunn; grandchildren Heather Wolcott and her husband Nick, and Robert S. Dunn along with his wife Nadia, great grandchildren Hendrix and Rachel Dunn, Clara and Acen Lannigan. Bob also leaves behind his sister Marcella, who, along with the entire family, will hold his memory close. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Tessie Dunn, and sisters Dorothy and Loraine.
Services to honor Bob’s life will be held on June 18, 2026, beginning with a visitation from 10 AM to 11:00 AM at Hodapp Funeral Homes - West Chester, located at 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069.
