Robert F. LaChance, age 74, passed away on June 13, 2026 in West Chester, Ohio. He was born on July 1, 1951 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Emile A. and Barbara H. LaChance, both who predeceased him in death.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy LaChance, and his loving sons, Dylan P. LaChance and Brandon J. LaChance. He is also survived by his sister Judy (Rick) Haneberg, sister Linda (Don) Tapke, brother Dan (Kim) LaChance, brother Doug LaChance, brother Buddy (Donna) LaChance, sister Ellen (Rob) Wood, and brother Fred (Roz) LaChance, plus many nieces and nephews.
Bob loved working outdoors and pursued a career as a golf course superintendent working his way from the grounds crew. He also was editor of the Green Breeze, which was the monthly newsletter for the greater Cincinnati Golf Course Superintendents Association for many years. He was inducted into the GCGCSAA Hall of Fame. After retiring from the Golf Course management, he moved on to a part time sales position with Trupointe Cooperative. He quickly discovered that he loved sales which he most likely inherited from his father.
Bob was a volunteer with NAMI for many years and loved to help others who were navigating the problems that can occur helping loved ones dealing with mental health. Through facilitating support groups such as Family to Family and speaking at CIT Training Sessions with many Police Departments in the greater Cincinnati area. He was awarded the NAMI Southwest Ohio Award in Excellence and the Frank Gorman Outstanding Volunteer Award on October 16, 2019.
Bob will be missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 12pm-2pm at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Road, West Chester, OH 45069. The Funeral Service will be held on June 23, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Stephen Catholic Church located at 3804 Eastern Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45226. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
