Robert (Bob) Lemmink, beloved husband of 59 years to JoAnn Costello Lemmink passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Bob leaves behind three children: Chris Lemmink (Tiffany), Andrea Schwartz (Marty), and Michael Lemmink (Gretchen), six grandchildren: Brianna, Michelle, Mackenzie, Addison, Hector, and Emmon. Bob was the last surviving of 6 children in his family: Ginny (Harold) Reichel, Ed (Helen) Lemmink, Dot (Nick) Calardo, Don (Caroline) Lemmink, and Joan (Joe) Spriggs. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Cincinnati at Good Samaritan Hospital. Growing up in Corryville he attended St. George followed by Roger Bacon. He then started working for Cincinnati Bell as a mail boy in 1958. While working he completed night school at the University of Cincinnati in 1966. Bob proudly served his county in the United States Air Force Reserves and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He went on to attend Salmon P. Chase College of Law’s night program and at age 52 received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.). He then opened his solo practice and acted in that manner for close to twenty five years. Simultaneously, Bob entered into the field of professional ushering which spanned the next decades across many local venues: Reds, Bengals, Bearcats, Musketeers… you name it, he worked it.
In 2022 Bob was diagnosed with ALS. Throughout his courageous battle he faced each day with remarkable strength, dedication, and quiet determination. Through the support of his loving caregivers Bob was able to remain in his home where he remained steadfast until end of life leaving behind a lasting example of grace, resilience, and dignity which can continue to inspire all who knew and loved him. Bob will be remembered fondly as a loving husband, a dedicated and supportive father, with a broad reaching social network and a positive impact upon the local community.
