Ronald G. Ostendorf, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 91. Born on July 2, 1934, in Cincinnati, he lived a life marked by dedication to family, career, and community.
Ronald enjoyed a distinguished career, having retired after over 33 years with Procter & Gamble Co. His leadership extended beyond his workplace, as he emerged as a prominent figure within the International Air & Waste Management Association, culminating as chairperson for the 1994 convention in Cincinnati. His professional journey took him across the United States, Asia, South America, and Europe, allowing him to experience and appreciate a diversity of cultures.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Ronald shared a profound love of travel with his wife, Barbara (nee Carr) Ostendorf. Together, they created remarkable memories, particularly with trips to Hawaii. His passion for life was also reflected in his other hobbies, which included photography, gardening, and cooking—activities that brought him immense joy.
Ronald held family as his most prized accomplishment. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (nee Carr) Ostendorf; their children, Cynthia (Ken) Supe and Ward (Debbie) Ostendorf; grandchildren Kyle (Kristin) Supe, Reed (Sara) Supe, Katie Ostendorf, Amanda (Chistan White) Ostendorf, and Ryan (Isabella Williams) Ostendorf; and great-grandchildren Lincoln Supe, Rosalie Supe, Jacob Supe, Nathan Supe, Sloane Supe, and Sawyer Supe. Their achievements and milestones were a source of endless joy and pride for Ronald.
His community involvement was noteworthy. A proud original resident of Greenhills, Ohio in 1938, Ronald held deep ties to his roots and enjoyed sharing stories and companionship with childhood friends, affectionately known as the "Fogies.” Additionally, Ronald was an original member of the Powel Crosley YMCA and dedicated time to the PTA, school boosters, youth sports, and various neighborhood associations.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Opal (Ward) Ostendorf, and his brothers Louis, Eugene, Daniel, and Michael Ostendorf. His legacy lives on through his family and the numerous lives he touched during his lifetime.
Family, friends, and acquaintances are encouraged to gather to celebrate Ronald's life. Visitation will be held on January 30, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hodapp Funeral Homes - West Chester, located at 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, Ohio, 45069. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
