Roy William Brunemann
Roy passed away on August 12, 2025 at the age of 90. Born in Cincinnati where he lived until retirement. Roy was the devoted husband of 64 years to the late Marilyn (Lyn) Brunemann. He was a great dad to Michele (Mark) Elsaesser and Joe (Loren) Brunemann and a terrific Grampy to Catherine Elsaesser, James (Rachel Rosenzweig) Brunemann and Will Brunemann.
Bonita Springs, Florida had been his “living in paradise” home for 26 years with his wife Lyn before returning to Ohio in 2020.
Roy will be remembered as calm, kind, supportive, honest and much smarter than he gave himself credit for. His kids are grateful for the expertise he passed on regarding home repairs and construction, tapping into his carpentry skills, Architecture degree, and experience at the family owned commercial construction business.
As a quiet giver, Roy used his skills to give to others; serving on the board of the Florida COA, the nuns at Ursuline and Girls Town, many charitable organizations, churches, friends and extended family. He supported and helped others seeking nothing in return.
As an avid sailor, Roy spent weekends at Brookville Lake on the “Lyn B” with his first mate Lyn and his children Joe and Michele. He enjoyed all things outdoors whether being the first to use his eagle eyes to site a variety of wildlife or throwing a fishing line in for fun. “Slow and easy” was the usual directive.
A memorial Service for Roy and Lyn Brunemann will be held at Bellarmine Chapel at Xavier University on December 6th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Hope Emergency Program P.O. Box 214 Fayetteville, OH 45118
