Ruth Marie (Gregory) Williams

February 9, 1931 — May 28, 2025

West Chester, Ohio

Ruth Marie Williams, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at Chesterwood Village in West Chester, Ohio. Born on February 9, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ruth’s journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Ruth enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from the state of Ohio Liquor Board after 25 years. However, her most rewarding role was that of a grandmother, which she embraced with passion and commitment. Ruth was known for her warmth, her keen listening skills, and her ability to provide strength and support to her family, traits that made her a nurturing presence in their lives.

Growing up in Greenhills, Ohio, Ruth met her future husband, Ken, who would become her lifelong partner married over 49 years. The couple created a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. Ruth was especially fond of holidays spent together, where her talent for baking and preparing delightful meals shone through. These acts of love allowed her to spoil her family in the most delicious way.

Ruth had a passion for adventure, often vacationing with her children at some of her favorite spots, including Kennebunk Port, Maine, the lake in Michigan, and the beaches of South Carolina. Texas, Oklahoma, or Virginia, Ruth was always ready to go. These trips created lifelong memories and traditions that will be cherished by all.

As a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan, Ruth loved watching games and engaged in her favorite pastime of listening to the broadcasts. In the off-season, she kept herself entertained with crossword puzzles and assembling 1000-piece puzzles without peeking at the picture on the box, all while proudly attending her grandchildren's activities—whether it was volleyball, basketball, football, baseball, or school plays.

Ruth is dearly remembered by her loving family, which includes her children Paige Runion (Scottie), Scott Williams (Laura), Jenni Rose, Amy Perkins, Leigh Short (Doug), Ken Williams Jr (Kevine), along with her cherished grandchildren: Lindsay, Stacey, Abby, Kirstie, Gregory, Zachary, Lauren, Dennis, Lacey, Erin (deceased), Allie, Patric, Coleman, and Cara. Ruth was also proud of her 20 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother Charles Gregory and sister-in-law Clare Gregory. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marie Gregory; her husband, Kenneth; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Flo Gregory; and her dear granddaughter, Erin Schrick.

Ruth Marie Williams leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Her family and friends will forever hold her memory in their hearts, celebrating the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
