On Monday, April 4, 2022, Ryan Patrick Dunphy, passed away at the age of 34. Ryan was born on April 27, 1987, in Greenville, NC, to his loving parents, Steve J. Dunphy and Margie (Baur) Dunphy, and older brother Kyle Dunphy. From there the family moved to Farmington Hills, Michigan and then to Cincinnati, Ohio. Ryan graduated from the Ohio State University, after attending the University of Tennessee, and the University of Hawaii. He is survived by his parents and brother, as well as sister-in-law, Emily Heath Dunphy, and niece and nephew, Cassandra and Corran Dunphy, and many loving cousins, uncles and aunts. Ryan was the "bull in the china shop" as a child, and continued to live with an unrelenting independent spirit and drive. He treasured the family pets Milo, Henry, and Lola, though did not much enjoy a zoo. An early friend in Farmington encouraged him to play ice hockey and that sport remained a large part of his life. His wanderlust sent him to adventures in many different cities and several different nations. He was most thoughtful and creative with gift giving, a special silk flower arrangement made for Mom on Mother's day; a "found" pearl from Hilo Hatties made into a necklace for Mom; a unique pair of knitted tank slippers for his Marine brother; a formal photograph with he and Kyle and "the globe"; a "just meat" Christmas, to name a few. Ryan’s life was tragically cut short, and he leaves a family full of sadness at the loss of such a spirited and bright young man, but they will forever be grateful for the time they had with him and the memories made. A private family service was held on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at St. Mary's Mausoleum in St. Bernard, Ohio. Internment followed in the cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Cincinnati Catholic Cemetery Society’s Foundation and Arboretum, 3819 West 8th St., Cincinnati, Oh 45205.
