Sarah M. Wernicke

Sarah Wernicke, age 83, a longtime resident of Greenhills, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2026.

She was born October 10, 1942, in Bell County, Kentucky, to Harold and Pearl Moody.

Prior to raising her children, Sarah worked as a telephone operator for the Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company.

Loving mother of Kim (Mike) Jackson, Chris Wernicke, and Karen Wernicke. Nana to Haley and Charli. Sister-in-law of Jim (Carol) Wernicke. Aunt of Michelle, Michael, and Jennifer. Great-aunt of Kaytlyn and great-great-aunt of Westley.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pearl Moody; her brother, Covie Moody; and her beloved husband of 35 years, Joseph Wernicke, who passed in 2008.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 10:00 until Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, College Hill, 45224. A graveside service will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sarah's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Feed the Children.
