Sharon (Sherry) Knotts, née Leicht, was born on March 3, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and peacefully passed away in her beloved hometown on March 14, 2026. A cherished soul whose vibrant spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her, Sherry’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, devotion, and community engagement.
Throughout her life, Sherry was deeply involved in causes and communities dear to her heart. She proudly served as a board member of the Amvets, bringing dedication and passion to supporting veterans and their families. Her engagement extended to being a loyal member of the Eagles, where her warm smile and welcoming nature were known to all. Proudly affiliated with the Pi Delta sorority, Sherry fostered enduring friendships and sisterhood that enriched her life profoundly.
An avid reader and gifted poet, she found solace and inspiration in novels and the written word, often expressing her thoughts and feelings through heartfelt poetry. Her love for storytelling and creativity were only matched by her zest for life and joyous nature.
Sherry’s passions were varied and vibrant. She delighted in traveling, embracing the thrill of new experiences and the joy of exploring new places. Her heart was fullest when watching her children and grandchildren engage in sports and dance—moments she treasured deeply. Singing and dancing were not merely pastimes but celebrations of life, which she embraced with infectious enthusiasm. For over forty years, family traditions brought the Knotts family close, weaving memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
Social and spirited, Sherry loved sharing good times with friends, her laughter ringing true during gatherings that celebrated friendship and life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed the thrill of wagering at the one-armed bandit slots, a playful indulgence reflecting her fun-loving nature. Above all, Sherry loved life itself—embracing every moment with open arms and an unyielding smile.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Daniel Knotts; her son DJ Knotts; her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Claudia Knotts; her daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Kenny Bland; and her beloved grandchildren Brianna McCulley, Carmen Knotts, and Darren Knotts. Her family circle also includes her sisters Sandy Flick and Suzie May, along with Sandy’s husband Edward Flick. Sherry’s life was further enriched by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, each carrying forward her legacy of warmth and love.
Friends and family will gather to honor Sherry’s memory with visitation and funeral services on March 19, 2026, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069. The memorial visitation will be held from 1 PM until time of Funeral Service at 3 PM.
As we remember Sharon “Sherry” Knotts, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life marked by kindness, joy, and unwavering love. Though she has departed from this world, the light she kindled in our hearts will continue to shine brightly, guiding and inspiring all who were blessed to know her. She will be profoundly missed, forever cherished, and eternally loved.
