Susan M. Wermes, née Pillman, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Loveland. Born on August 28, 1946, in Cardiff, Wales, Susan was a warm and welcoming soul who brought comfort and joy to those around her. Her kindness and great sense of humor made people feel at ease, reflecting a character defined by genuine compassion and lightheartedness.
A proud graduate of Regina High School, Susan cherished her educational experiences and the friendships she formed during those formative years. Beyond her academic achievements, she had a deep love for raising and caring for birds, finding peace and purpose in nurturing these delicate creatures. Her creativity further shone through her talent in crochet, an art she mastered with patience and care.
Susan's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, surrounding herself with loved ones who meant the world to her. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Paul Wermes; her daughter, Mary Wermes Kampf; her sisters, Angela Chamberlain (David),Linda Pillman and her granddaughter, Miranda Kampf. These cherished family members carry forward her legacy of warmth and kindness.
Susan was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Frederic Wermes; her mother, Mary Pillman; her father, Howard Pillman; her brothers, Phillip Pillman , Brian Pillman as well as her father-in-law, Paul Wermes, and mother-in-law, Mildred Wermes. Their memories remain deeply embedded in the hearts of all who knew her.
Through her generous spirit and loving nature, Susan M. Wermes leaves an enduring imprint on the lives she touched. She will be remembered with affection and admiration by her family and all fortunate enough to know her. Her gentle presence and joyful approach to life will be sorely missed but fondly celebrated.
A visitation will be held at the Hodapp Funeral Home 8815 Cincinnati Columbus road ,West Chester Ohio, 45069 from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday March 17th
Mass will be held at St. Susanna Catholic Church 616 Reading road ,Mason ohio,45040 at 11am
Followed by a Christian burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 11000 Montgomery road, Cincinnati ohio,45249
