Suzanne M. Rakel

Suzanne M. Rakel, 90, of Mason Ohio, passed away peacefully at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, September 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and the “angels” of Hospice of Cincinnati.

She was born May 3, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edward and Catherine (Feldman) Mouch. Suzanne married Leroy “Bud” Rakel on June 21,1952 and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2013.

Suzanne was a devout Catholic and member of St. Susanna Catholic Church. She and Bud enjoyed spending time with family, playing bridge, square dancing and ballroom dancing, golfing, traveling and camping.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband and parents and is survived by her children Edward Rakel of Mason, Ohio, Linda Fitzgerald (Mark) of Loveland, Ohio, Steven Rakel (Michelle) of San Antonio, Texas, and Kathy Andrews (Tim) of Montgomery, Ohio. She was grandmother of Marie, Laura, Kathy and Renee Rakel, Cary and Mollie Fitzgerald, Jennifer and Timmy Andrews, and had seventeen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister Jaree (Oak) O’Connor of Naples, Florida.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2020 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at St. Susanna Catholic Church followed by a memorial Mass at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.

The family would like to express special gratitude to Suzanne’s many friends especially those on Bluebird Lane for their loyal friendship and support and to the staff at Hospice of Cincinnati for the gentle and professional care they provided Suzanne and the family.
