Tedman was born to teen parents in Fort Kent, Maine and after time in foster homes was adopted by Benny and Sue Anderson in East Hampton, Connecticut. He always had an impulse to defend any weak and hurting person or animal; he also showed steadfast loyalty to his friends. Ted found his natural talent as a cook and enjoyed entering chili cook-offs.
Ted lost his brother, Matt, in 1997 and his father, Benny in 2024. He is survived by his mother, Sue (Myrna); his wife of over 18 years, Phyllis Anderson; sisters, Karen Anderson and Darlene Suggs; brother, Eric Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Ted supported and encouraged his stepchildren, Caroline, MJ, Matt, and Lilly. We’re thankful to the King family (Terry, Paul, Gary, Michael, and Ginny) for the many ways they helped Ted.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to have compassion on our infirmities, but rather one who was tempted in all things, just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us go forth with confidence toward the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16
A memorial service for Ted will take place at 3pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Carthage Church of the Nazarene, 33 West 65th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45216.
