Vicki Lynn Sims, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was born on December 5, 1948, in Martinsville, Indiana. She departed this world on December 18, 2025, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
Vicki dedicated 41 years of her life to General Electric, where she not only honed her professional skills but also forged lasting relationships with her coworkers, many of whom she kept in touch with after her retirement. Her kindness and commitment to her work reflected her caring nature, which was a hallmark of her personality.
Family was at the heart of Vicki's existence. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her spirit orchestrated joyful gatherings that drew loved ones together. Year after year, Vicki took pride in coordinating the family reunion, ensuring that the bonds of love and connection flourished. Recently, she embraced a new and cherished role as Meemaw, spending precious time with her grandnephew Dean, who undoubtedly brought endless joy into her life. A true culinary artist at heart, she was revered for her Dressing each Thanksgiving, a cherished dish that graced the tables of her family, becoming a beloved tradition and a highlight of the festive season.
Vicki’s laughter and wit were infectious, providing a warm light in the lives of those around her. Her loving, supportive nature made her a confidante for many; she was always there when you needed her most. A lover of music, Vicki found joy in going to concerts, with The Beatles and Rod Stewart holding a particularly special place in her heart. She also enjoyed the companionship of her feline family over the years, including Lucy, Cleo, Sophie, Sammy, Bella, and Paco, capturing the essence of being a devoted Cat Mother.
Her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Vicki is survived by her beloved sister, Judy Depew, along with her cherished nieces and nephews—Shawn Schiller, Heather Lane, Josh Burgjohann, and Amber Burgjohann—and her grandnephew, Dean Burgjohann. She is also survived by many cousins and extended family members, all of whom carry pieces of her spirit in their hearts.
Though she is reunited with her parents, Robert and Marjorie Sims, and her sister, Marsha Frazier, Vicki’s legacy of love and laughter will live on in the stories shared by those she has touched throughout her life. As we remember Vicki Lynn Sims, we celebrate a woman whose heart was as vast as the sky and whose impact will linger on in our lives forever. She will be missed greatly by all her family and friends, but we find solace in knowing that her warm spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear.
