Wayne Edward Siferd was born April 23, 1946, to Elwood and Mary Siferd. At 37 years old, he married the love of his life on July 30th, 1983, to Monica D Tutt at Parkview Church of Christ in Findlay, Ohio where they spent the next 33 years serving in ministry together. Wayne lived the first 70 years of his life in McComb, Ohio before relocating to Otterbein Retirement Community in Lebanon, Ohio in 2016
Wayne was carried away in the arms of Jesus his Lordon August 9th, 2025. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Monica D Siferd, and his ever-faithful furry companion, Ki.
Wayne was deeply connected to his community and church. He worked at Whirlpool in Findlay, Ohio for over 45 years and retired in October of 2011. Wayne was baptized on March 9, 1958, by Art Fields at the McComb Church of Christ. At an early age, his mother took him to Parkview Church of Christ in Findlay, Ohio. It was at Parkview where Wayne invested his heart and his life. There, he cared for kids from toddlers to teens beginning in the late 70s and continued until 2014 when he passed the baton to a new teacher. Some of the children he mentored went on to become church and community leaders.
Wayne enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. As a young bachelor, Uncle Wayne (AKA “Weiner”) doted on his 11 nieces and nephews, sharing many happy memories with them at his Indian Lake cabin, sitting around the campfire, or exploring the area on his boat. After marrying, he continued to stand tall in his “uncle shoes” by welcoming an additional 9 nieces and nephews into the family, rocking, and holding each new addition as the resident “baby whisperer.” He was a proud uncle and took great delight in the many accomplishments of his nieces and nephews. He loved each one!
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife’s father, Donald Shilt, his wife’s mother Judy Shilt McCann, and his sister, Cheryl Siferd Roy. He is survived by brothers Larry Siferd, Thomas (Sherrill) Siferd, and sister Dianne (Darrell) Andonian; his sisters-in-law Victoria (Timothy) Rocheleau, and Rebecca (Douglas) Bittinger. Wayne loved his many nieces and nephews very much. They are Buffy Sliker, Toby Andonian, Lisa Toterhi, Stacy Oates, Larry Siferd, Brent Roy, Bradley Roy, Brian Roy, Tom Siferd, Tammy Greer, and Kelly Siferd, Sarah Rocheleau, Hannah Burseth, Rebekah Wilson, Deborah Owens, Joshua Rocheleau, Noah Rocheleau, Brenton Bittinger (deceased), Megan Butler, and Lindsey Hickson.

In summing up Wayne’s life, he loved the Lord, and he was a great friend! He was a helper. Wayne was also a truly kind, supportive, and encouraging husband. He loved his wife and held her hand, and opened her door, and gave her flowers, and enjoyed being with her as they enjoyed sharing their Indian Lake cabin and their many adventurous travels. He was generous. He was sweet. He was funny. He was faithful.
Most of all, he was, and is, dearly loved.
