William Vance Martin

William V. Martin of West Chester Township, passed away May 27, 2025 aged 87.

Born in Cincinnati on September 11, 1937 to the late James V. and Ida S. Martin. William was married to his late wife Janet L. Martin (nee Gaines) for 48 years until her passing.

William was someone who took quiet pride in working and caring for his family. He coached and managed many years his sons baseball team with the PYO (Pisgah Youth Organization), coming home from a day of labor, loading up the car with baseball equipment and practicing during the week and managing games on the weekends.

He also had a huge soft spot for animals. Over the years he adopted dozens of unwanted or stray cats and dogs and giving them a shot at a loving life.

He survived by his sons Scott V. Martin, Craig V. Martin (Susan), daughter Holly L. Silva, grandson Britton V. Martin, granddaughters Carmen I. Silva and Erika L.Silva and several great-grand children.

William is also survived by his three sisters: Beverly Elise O'Flaherty (late Ted), Marilyn A Hamm (late Ronald) and Barbara A Silva (Juan).

William was also preceded in death in addition to his parents; by his late son-in-Law Luis F. Silva (Holly), late daughter-in-law Anne M. Martin (Craig) and his special lady friend and companion Betty Stephenson.
